{"id":4155,"date":"2016-04-26T15:29:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T15:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/williamstonprimaryschool\/?p=4155"},"modified":"2016-04-26T15:29:59","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T15:29:59","slug":"primary-4-maths-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/williamstonprimaryschool\/2016\/04\/26\/primary-4-maths-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 4 Maths Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parents\/Carers,<\/p>\n<p>This term in Primary 4 we are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rounding numbers (to the nearest ten e.g. 34 = 30 or 456=460 and hundred e.g. 542=500).<\/li>\n<li>Ordering numbers using the greater than &gt; and less than &lt; symbols e.g. 56&lt;67.<\/li>\n<li>Practising strategies for addition and subtraction of 2 digit numbers, mentally e.g. partitioning, using a number square or using a number line.<\/li>\n<li>Revising multiplication tables (2,4,5, and 10) and associated division facts.<\/li>\n<li>Practising strategies for multiplying a 2 digit number by a single digit e.g. doubling a 2 digit number e.g. 24 x 2.<\/li>\n<li>Making and counting amounts of money and finding change (from a maximum of \u00a310).<\/li>\n<li>Expressing the time in digital and analogue format for o&#8217;clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to, and then extending this to 5 minute intervals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It would be great if you could support your child with these concepts at home.
