Today during outdoor learning we were learning about kindness. We chatted about Random Acts of Kindness and decided to fill our playground with random comments of kindness to make people smile.
This week, P3/4/5 were budding artists. Using chalk, they had to draw a portrait of their partner. We discussed how shape could help us – deciding that a portrait should have an oval head, rectangular neck and shoulders, then other shapes for the facial features. It was chilly outside, but we had lots of fun creating our chalk art! Thanks Amber who took most of the photos for us to share with you all.
Today we abandoned our planned lesson and decided to make the most of the frost! Groups were challenged to create a giant drawing that would be seen from above, using only their feet and the frost below.
Afterwards, pupils discussed which problem solving strategies they’d used. This included Try a Simpler Case, Guess Check and Improve and Work Together.
Lots of muddy fun was had when pupils had to mix water and soil to make mud then use it to create wall art!
