Another busy week in p1/2

We have been looking after some stick insects in our classroom and we all got the change to hold them. Oliver thought they were very soft to hold but Christopher thought they were tickly.

In maths we sorted a packet of sweets using colours and organised each colour into straight lines so we could compare them. Callum sorted the yellow sweets and that was the longest line. We worked together in small groups to make a pictogram of our bug hunt results and Maris noticed that we found the most woodlice. We also used a computer game to show the results of our bug hunt which Findlay enjoyed.

In number we have been using our large ten frame to show numbers to 10 using our bodies and to help with subtraction.

We worked in small groups to sequence the life cycle of different minibeasts (ladybird, butterfly, honey bee and ant). Brodie thinks his group worked well together so everyone got a turn.

During outdoor learning with Ms Ferguson we were clearing the nursery garden of weeds ready to plant some new flowers.

In art, we created snail pictures using collage in the style of Henri Matisse. Kaila enjoyed making her snail pictures.

P3/4/5

Today the 5th of October, a football coach called Lyn came to the school to begin teaching us skills to become better with a ball.

First we did a warm up by running round a circle of cones and when she blew the whistle we had to follow a command. Then we each got a ball and dribbled it in the circle of cones.

After that we had to pass the ball from foot to foot followed by lots of different games and skills.

We really enjoyed it and we have 5 more weeks to be the best we can with a football.037 038 039 040-copy 040 041 042 043 044 045 046 047 048 049 050
