P5/6/7 Learning

This week in class we have been doing maths mostly revision of our learning. We have also been showing our personal project on the careers we want to have when we are older. We have also started painting the shelter in the playground and we are  looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Monday 5th October 2015

A busy day at nursery finding out more about autumn. AM children did some drama pretending to be falling leaves, in time to the music, and animals looking for a cosy home under the leaves. We did some sorting and matching using different autumn materials, lots of discussion here. PM children did music with myself, we were keeping a steady beat in time to the song and playing bells, we went on a bear hunt and sang 5 little monkeys. We listened to music from Carnaval of the Animals and tried to imagine what animal would move to different pieces of music.

Friday 2nd October

We talked about the seasons today and what the animals do in the autumn. The music teacher was in nursery – we were keeping a steady beat using the bells, we sang the Bear Hunt Song and moved in time to the music pretending to be dinosaurs – lots of fun! We enjoyed more late summer sun and played with the bikes outside.

Thursday 1st October

Another lovely sunny day so the children made the most of enjoying being outside. We continued the interest in construction using the outdoor environment and natural resources to make a ‘run’ the ball could roll down. We learned more about autumn and talked about an indian summer!

P3/4 learning

Primary 3/4 have been doing algebra, division and times tables. They have been using connectives in their writing and they wrote an imaginitive story in writing. They have been making adverts for their toys in groups  during art and also made up an  advert  using ICT independantly.

P5,6,7 learning

In p 5,6,7  P6 have learned how to round decimal numbers, adding and subtracting them. p5 have learned the 6 and 7 times tables. p7 have being learning to use BOMDAS in calculations. In IDL we have been making our model of rollercoasters in groups. During language we have been story writing and are working on a story about Our World is beautiful.  We have also begun to prepare the shelter to create out mural which the class collaborated to design.
