Our Wow Wall which celebrates the achievements of our children is looking a little bare. Please take a moment to fill in one of our achievement slips and help us celebrate your child’s latest triumph. It can be anything at all e.g. sleeping in a ‘big’ bed or swimming using armbands. The important part is the acknowledgement of their success and we would like to share that with you.
New Look!
We look forward to welcoming everyone when our pupils return to nursery on Tuesday, 21 August.
There have been big changes to our nursery with new flooring, painted walls and a new kitchen. It looks gorgeous but a little empty just now so please bear with us while we set up the various areas using as much of the children’s ideas as we can.
Thank You and Happy Holidays
Thank You
We are looking forward to our nursery graduation show on Thursday. The tickets are free for this but we will have a donation basket and any contributions will go towards new resources for the nursery. Thank you in advance.
Also a big thank you to all the people who have donated extra money towards snack this year. We are busy calculating how much extra has been given towards resources. As usual we will let you know what we buy with the money and we will make sure it is spent wisely. Usually the children suggest items they would like and we vote to decide. Watch this space!
Change of Shoes
During the last week of term we are suggesting that children keep their outdoor shoes on instead of changing in to their gym shoes. This means you can take their gym shoes home allowing us to do a big tidy of the cloakroom area. We are able to do this as we are getting new flooring over the summer.
Our Nursery Trip – Thank you
One more mention about our nursery trip. The Parent Council of Deans P.S. very kindly donated money towards our trip. Often there is a difference between the projected cost and the actual cost as people change their mind and are no longer able to go. The Parent Council offered to fund that shortfall this year and we are very grateful.
Teddy Bears Picnic
We asked the children to bring their favourite teddy or soft toy in to nursery this week. We had tiny little bears, Build-a-Bears, Lions, Pandas and even Mickey Mouse. We made sure we had some spare in the nursery just in case anyone forgot one from home. We took the toys with us to the gym hall and had a picnic of fruit, a biscuit and even a chocolate button treat. The primary six buddies (soon to be primary one buddies) came. They read us stories and joined in with our games. We had a brilliant time.
Nursery Sports
We hosted another successful nursery sports this week with everyone enjoying races in the gym hall. We had a running race, a balancing a cone on your head race, a jumping race and lastly a running then jumping through a hoop race. We offered an adults race but nobody took us up on that! We did however manage a visitors race in the afternoon to include some younger visitors. The event ended with a lovely medal ceremony.

Bring a Toy to Nursery Day
Some children have been asking to have an opportunity to show one of their favourite (but not too precious or expensive!) toys to their friends in nursery.
We have decided to choose a day for this to happen – it’s on Wednesday 27th of June. On that day you can bring a toy to nursery and share play opportunities with your friends.
Note to parents/carers
Nothing too big or a toy weapon of any kind please.
