Happy New Year!

Everyone at Deans Nursery would like to wish you a Happy New Year!

It’s not the start to the year that we were expecting, going back into full lockdown, but we can all do this together and hopefully be back together soon!

We will be uploading suggested activities, songs etc here Monday- Thursday, that you may like to do with your little ones. The ladies will be staying in touch with you all and will start checking in via a phone call (may be from a withheld number) as of next week.

We may not all be together right now but we are here for you all, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need to by emailing the school at

wldeans-ps@westlothian.org.uk

Remember to be kind to yourselves!

Christmas Parties!

The Christmas parties were a huge success this week and everyone had great fun! We danced, played games, ate party food and we even had a special video sent to us from Santa. He was kind enough to leave us all a little gift under our school Christmas tree. (Photos of the party will be posted in individual Learning Journals, if not before the holidays in January.)

Christmas Party Information

This year our Christmas parties are taking place on different days, so that we can ensure all children are able to join in the fun!

The morning and full day children will have their party on Monday morning.

The afternoon and full day children will have their party on Wednesday afternoon.  This party will start at 1.30pm so can we please ask that all children arrive before this. The party snack will be served first so no need for the children to have a big lunch before coming on this day!

Children that get collected at the same time as school children, on this day can you please collect siblings first, as we have a special arrival happening at 2.45pm which may run over a little!

*Please note that once children are in nursery with their party clothes on, we are unable to change them, so please ensure you don’t send them in something too precious!*

PeeP from home

Some of our children have been very busy doing PeeP at home with their parents.

From November

Elsie enjoyed making playdough at home. She followed the recipe that had been sent home and enjoyed measuring out all the ingredients exploring different way to measure including using spoons and cups.

From  December

Sam has enjoyed making a space rocket at home. He is really proud of his achievements, look at his big smile. Well done Sam!!!!!

Obstacle Course

Recently in our nursery garden, the boys and girls have enjoyed making obstacle courses with wooden pallets, cable reels and planks. This activity has linked in brilliantly with our nursery values in every way! We have seen some really good problem solving as the children figure out how to cross the course while feeling SAFE. The boys and girls have RESPECTED each other as they waited their turn and gave each other space to cross. Some children have NURTURED their peers as they helped them across by holding their hands or giving advice and encouragement. It has been a lot of fun and a real pleasure for the nursery ladies to see and be part of!
