Here’s an activity to try, that supports learning about senses. If you don’t have paint to mix the spices with, a small amount of water would do or yoghurt.

Sensory Spice Painting

Give your child a variety of liquids and solids and plenty of mixing bowls and spoons and allow them to have fun making potions. There is lots of science to be learned in experimenting and exploring.

Examples to use: porridge, milk, water, spices, flour, cereals, sauces, fizzy juice.

Here’s a little activity to enhance your child’s fine motor skills. You can make it more challenging by using string instead of straws.

We have been learning about our emotions within the nursery last week. The children used mirrors to look and paint their emotions, we also used the laptop camera, where the children took turns in making emotional expressions for the other children to see on the smartboard and guess the emotion.
