Homemade Maracas

Making your own maracas is a great way to encourage creativity and shaking maracas to a song or tune encourages children to listen to rhythm and anticipate how the song will change.  Shake, rattle and roll!

 Materials:

two small plastic water bottles, two toilet paper tubes, about a handful of any small material such as rice, birdseed or dried macaroni, tape.

The Tiger Who Came To Tea

Some questions to ask your child after they have listened to the story:

How would you feel if a tiger came to your door and asked to come in for tea?

What would you do?

Would you let the tiger eat all the food and drink all the drink?

Is the tiger a good guest?

How would the tiger behave differently if he was a good guest?

Who would you invite to your own tea party?

What do you think would happen at your tea party?
