Some children have been asking to have an opportunity to show one of their favourite (but not too precious or expensive!) toys to their friends in nursery.
We have decided to choose a day for this to happen – it’s on Wednesday 27th of June. On that day you can bring a toy to nursery and share play opportunities with your friends.
Note to parents/carers
Nothing too big or a toy weapon of any kind please.
I’m sure if you attended our nursery trip to Five Sisters Zoo this week you will agree we all had a fantastic time. The weather was kind to us which made a big difference. Children were very excited to travel on the bus and were raring to go when we arrived. There is a huge variety of animals and some children and adults were very brave and managed to touch some at the handling session. Great fun was had by all.
Here at Deans we’ve been lucky enough to have a new sensory room installed which can be used by the whole school. A sensory room is a specially designed room which uses special lighting, music and objects to calm children and develop their senses. We’ve been taking children up in small groups trying to ensure everyone gets a turn. I am sure you will agree it looks great.
A.M. parents collect children as usual then go to the dining hall. P.M. parents come through the main entrance with your child and make your way to the dining hall. You will be met there.Enjoy!

If you have applied for your child to come to Deans Nursery Class after the holidays, you are very welcome to come to an open afternoon on Friday 15.6.18 at 1.30. You will meet the nursery team, get a nursery booklet and we will talk you through some of our routines. Your child will get a chance to play in our nursery and make some new friends.
Just a wee reminder – next Wednesday (13.6.18) is our nursery trip day. We will publish a timetable for the day shortly and explain how it’s all going to work. Watch this space!
Good news! We have been told we are getting a bit of a makeover during the summer holidays. This will consist of a new kitchen, new flooring and a fresh coat of paint. You won’t recognise us next session!
This means that some walls might be stripped as there is preparation work before the painters start and there might be the odd packing box too.
Just a wee reminder that we celebrated our bank holiday last Monday and are not off this Monday for the English bank holiday. See you on Monday. Enjoy your weekend.
Nursery children who have an older sibling in school enjoyed a short visit from them recently. They loved showing them around and telling them what they get up to at nursery.
We have one more Stay & Play date this session. It is on Thursday 17th May. It would be great if you could stay for a wee while on that day. You can be shown around, meet your child’s friends and grab an opportunity to speak to the nursery team.
