A tasty treat was enjoyed in nursery, we celebrated Shrove Tuesday by baking our own delicious pancakes. Everyone had to follow the recipe very carefully and be very careful next to the hot grill but were rewarded by yummy pancakes.

Gym Time
We try to encourage everyone to keep fit and healthy, we love having use of the big gym hall and use the large space to run around. We are very good at following instructions and are great sports if we play a game and we’re first out! A big thank you to Sandra, our volunteer helper who helps out every gym day.
PEEP
We had our last PEEP session this week and on this occasion we had lots of acting out of nursery rhymes. We made spiders for Little Miss Muffet and little feather birds for Two Little Dickie Birds. As it was the last session each family was awarded a certificate. Well done to all who participated.
Outdoor Play
It has been a very windy week here in West Lothian so we took full advantage and made kites from plastic bags and string. The children flew them out in the playground.
Crafty Concentration
Some children took some time out to sit and really concentrate on making some beautiful artwork today. They were very focused on the task and the results were clear to see.
PEEP – 27 February 2019
Another great week at PEEP, this session concentrated on fine and gross motor skills. For fine skills we threaded cereal onto pipe cleaners to make bird feeders. To practise gross skills we used a line on the floor for balancing then walked along a bench and perfected our aim by throwing balloons into bowls. As ever we had time for a story and snack.
The next session will be 6th March at 9am for afternoon children and 1.45pm for morning children. Please come and join us if you can.
Recycling
We have spoken this week about the importance of recycling and everyone putting their rubbish in the right bins. The children like the responsibility of doing this important job and it is something you could encourage at home.
PEEP
We had another fantastic PEEP session this week where we enjoyed making Elmer Elephant models from the tops of milk bottles, there was also time for story and snack. There will be no PEEP next week but we will resume Wednesday 27th February at 9am for morning session and 1.45pm for afternoon. PEEP will also be on Wednesday 6th March and Wednesday 13th March.
Weekly Walk – Would you like to join us?
Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am and 2pm we take a walk/run around the football field. This is the ten minute walk initiative which many schools in Scotland are doing. Research has shown it is good for the body and the mind. Please come along if you have some free time any Tuesday and/or Thursday and join us for some outdoor fun.
