As well as sitting and reading books we sometimes use props to tell stories. This week the children took turns to tell the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

Team Work in the Snow
All that bad weather left our garden deep in snow. Everyone worked very hard to clear the road and allow the bikes to be used. We also found time to build a snowman.
Career Day
The whole school took part in Career Day today. It was great to see so many children dressed up and sharing with everyone what they want to be when they grow up.
Learning to look after our birds
We all enjoyed making bird cakes this week, lots of measuring and mixing before rolling into balls. We left some out in our garden then used binoculars to watch the birds as they landed to feed.
Let’s go fly a kite…….
We’ve been talking about the weather and wind in particular. We used bags to make kites and had great fun flying them in the big playground.
Sharing our Learning
Using utensils
We purchased some kitchen tongs to allow children to choose their snack more hygienically, they all loved using them.
Children’s Choice
Every week the children get an opportunity to choose what they would like for snack. This time it was an unusual combination of pasta with cheese and broccoli followed by watermelon. It was a huge hit and we had lots of empty plates.
School Library
We had a visit to the school library this week, everyone loved having a look at all the books and choosing what they wanted to read.
Bird Spotting
We had a break in the weather allowing us to do some bird spotting. Children were given a sheet showing the most common birds in our area and were to count how many they could see. Great for observation and numeracy.
