Everyone had a great time on Thursday at our little Halloween party! Some of our favourite activities were, spooky spider biscuit making, party snack and lots of dancing. The children decided the best Halloween song is the ‘Monster Mash’!

Spider Making
As you can imagine, the nursery has been a buzz with chat about Halloween. Some children requested to make black play dough and then decided they wanted to make spiders with it. They used pipe cleaners and buttons to create their creepy crawly spiders. Some fantastic creations!
Pumpkin Carving!
Some of the children enjoyed designing their own faces, carving and scooping out pumpkins! They showed great perseverance when carving the faces and scooping out the pulp, as this was a bit tricky and took lots of effort!
We loved lighting the pumpkins and putting them in our dark shed in the garden. Don’t you think they look very spoooooooky?
Feeding the birds!
It is all about Autumn and the changes it brings in nursery just now… the weather, the changes visually outside, darker earlier. But a big interest in conversation has been focused on the birds and how they get their food in the colder weather.
The children have been busy making bird feeders using pine cones, lard and bird seed. Once they were set, some of the children enjoyed hanging these on some of the trees out in the big field.
Last Day of Nursery
Thursday 27th June (PM) and Friday 28th June (AM)
We would like to make the last day of this year a little extra special and fun for all of the children. We will be playing games and dancing throughout the sessions and also will be offering a movie and popcorn experience for snack time.
We will be showing ‘Sing’.
If you would prefer your child does not watch this movie, please speak to a member of the nursery team.
Bear and Buddy Picnic
This week our children had a lovely Teddy Bears Picnic with their buddies, we played games, read books and had a lovely picnic treat. It really was great fun.
Sports Day
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us on Sports Day but we made the most of it and had a great time in the gym hall. We even managed to persuade some adults into running. So much fun was had by all!

Magic Muddles and Graduation
We had a very special day in nursery last Friday, firstly by having Magic Muddles here to entertain us. I think we can safely say by the noise in the hall everyone had an amazing time. Secondly it was time to celebrate our big boys and girls graduating from nursery as they are set to leave us to be a big Primary 1. We also had our little ones graduating to be pre-schoolers. The lovely day was finished with a tasty picnic in the hall. Good luck to everyone, we hope you have a fantastic summer.
Easter
It has been a very busy week this week learning the Easter story and having some Easter fun. We’ve coloured in egg pictures, decorated boiled eggs and made delicious crispy cakes. We hope you all have a great holiday and we’ll see you all back on Monday 9th April.
