A Stormy Valentines W/B 14/2/22

Hey everyone happy Friday!! Hope you’ve had a great week and stayed safe as it’s been wet and wild out there.

We have had another busy week learning about Valentines day, how to stay safe during this storm and why they have “funny” names (haha!) and being chefs. In nursery we have also been outside experiencing the storms and making sure our garden is safe and clear.

Come check out our busy week and hopefully it doesn’t blow you away…

Storm whatever it’s name is…

We have had such a good wee week playing in the garden while the storm has been here, the 90mph winds didn’t stop us. As it was very windy, we made our own kites from string and bags, this is something you could do at home if you do venture out into the storm this weekend. As a group, we spoke about different storms the world can experience from tornados to hurricanes and even how the begin which was a very interesting discussions – who knows we could see some of our lot working at the Met Office…

That rain was hammering our garden this week which was a bonus because it gave us HUGE puddles that we could all jump in – our wellies has taken a beaten that day!! Hide – in – seek has been such a popular game in nursery which we have been playing outside, it has been showing us that our wee group are very sneaky at finding they great hiding spots. Also, it has been increasing there numeracy skills as we have been counting from 0-10 and even 0-20.

The 1 2 Pizza Crew

Surely not??? We have another profession making an appearance in nursey, the chefs of Deans Nursery – this lot are excelling at everything!! We have been making pizza in the nursery. We had lots of fun using wraps as our base but you could use French sticks, panini, bagels or pitta bread. We then put tomato puree on before adding our toppings. We used onion, peppers, tomatoes and cheese but you could use whatever ever you like. These bake very quickly in the oven and would make a tasty snack or as part of a meal. As we spoke about achievements and experiences in our last blog this is something we would love to hear about from home – go get cooking!!! Then you can share your baking experiences with us, as we would love to include them on our “Achievements from home wall”.
Well guys, another week is finished and it has been a crazy but exciting one especially with the storms hitting all around us.
Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and we will see you all next week…well that’s if you haven’t all blew away…haha
