P2/3 Thursday 18th June 2020 – Summer grid

Good morning!

Miss Anderson and I have loved learning about all the parties being planned.  One being a very special birthday party – happy birthday to you!

Today is thoughtful Thursday and we are asking you to find ways to measure a 2m distance so you can stay safe at your party.  What objects will you use to measure this distance?  Be creative!

WEEK 11 SUMMER GRID

Remember to keep thinking about any emotional triggers you might have.  This time of transition can cause a bit of worry so it’s good to think about what might cause this, and find ways to help you relax and stay calm.  I know my triggers are tiredness and hunger so I always carry a snack with me!  And to calm down or cheer myself up I play my favourite music, go for a walk or do some crafts.  What about you?  Mrs Kinnear would love to know how you are all doing.

Wednesday 17th June- P3 Home Learning

The focus this week is a dinner party! With adult permission you will be hosting your own dinner party for your family on Friday!

Remember this doesn’t have to be fancy! You could make everyone beans on toast if you wanted! Remember to ask an adult’s permission to do anything in the kitchen and be very careful- don’t handle any hot or sharp things on your own!

Literacy

L.I. To write a menu for your dinner party

Write up your Menu (in your neatest, joined handwriting) to display on the table during your dinner party! Can you add some interesting adjectives to make it sound delicious!?

e.g.

Starter: Cool celery with a rich cheese dip

Mains: Banging beans on toast!

Dessert: Beautiful, crunchy biscuit sandwich

(A biscuit sandwich is two biscuits stuck together with jam- yum!!)

Maths/ Numeracy

L.I. To measure capacity and read different scales

It is very important when you are cooking you can measure out liquid ingredients and know how to read a measuring scale. This is called measuring ‘Capacity’. We measure capacity using jugs and measuring cylinders. We measure capacity in millilitres-ml (for small amounts) and litres-l (for large amounts). 1 ml is about a tear and 1 l is the same amount of liquid in a big bottle of pop. Learn about measuring capacity here: t-n-2545098-measuring-in-ml-powerpoint_ver_3

Complete one of these sheets, choose your own level of chilli challenge- 1 star=Mild, 2 star= Spicy and 3 star=Hot. Record the answers in your jotter. t2-m-4170-year-3-measure-capacity-differentiated-activity-sheets_ver_6
