West Lothian Young Writers Competition

We are very proud of all our children who entered the ‘West Lothian Young Writers Competition’ this year. Last night we watched as two of our fantastic writers collected their awards from the council. It was a lovely evening at Howden Park Centre. Congratulations to both John and Meghan.

Sports Day Fun!

This morning everyone in the Infants enjoyed a super sports day with potted sports such as bean bag toss and egg and spoon race followed by some races in our classes. Thank you very much to all of the Primary 7’s for helping to organise the children at the different events and for making sure that everyone had a great time!

Well done to all of the pupils who took part. Here are some photos for you to look at!

A fantastic ‘sporty’ morning everyone!

Our visit to Summerlee Museum

Last week Primary 3 went off to Summerlee Museum in Coatbridge. We had a wonderful time finding out about coal and how it was mined, what life was like down in the mine, the different jobs which the miners had to do and how the houses which the miners stayed in changed over the years.

We all had a fantastic time and learned lots of interesting information to use as part of our Mining topic.

Here are some photographs of our day for you to look at.

Miss Mack and Primary 3M!

Writing in Primary 1

On Thursday 15th of June, both Primary 1 classes were sprinkled with some magic dust and magically shrunk to the size of a mouse. The children then explored the school grounds as miniature versions of themselves. They fell down cracks, climbed trees and met new creatures. All the children then went on to write imaginatively about their adventure.

Nursery Trip – Five Sisters Zoo

As part of nursery to Primary 1 transition, the pre-school children took part in a trip to The Five Sisters Zoo. They all had a wonderful time with their parents and carers. They explored the Zoo, learned about the animals and made some new friends. The adults and children all had a roar of a time. All of our children have now built confidence and resilience in preparation for Primary 1 in August.
