Health Week in Nursery

This week we have been learning how to keep ourselves fit and healthy. At group time we have been talking about healthy eating and other ways we can keep ourselves healthy at nursery and at home. We had lots of good ideas for healthy eating choices and we talked about some different ways we can travel to nursery to be active. Some of us have used bikes and scooters this week and lots of children have been walking.

The morning children were demonstrating their hand washing actions to make sure we always wash away dirt and germs properly.

We have enjoyed our healthy snacks this week. The fruit kebabs and fruity ice-cubes were a big hit on Tuesday!

On Wednesday we enjoyed taking part in our sports day. We were very active as we tried out the different activities and we still had energy left to run face in our group relay races. Well done everyone!

Picnic Time

The Fantastics and The Cool Kids had a picnic to finish off the year. Here we are having a lovely time in the sun, playing games and enjoying some crisps and treats. Happy Holidays from all of the children!

P6/7 Go Curling in Stirling!

Today P6/7 went to The Curling Academy at Stirling Sports Village.

We love doing curling in PE lessons at school but for most of us, this was our first time trying it on ice!

After a quick warm up, we were split into groups, grabbed a brush and had a go at sweeping.  Then we were taught how to slide the stones with both clockwise and anti-clockwise spins.

We ended our session with a few games of short curling.  It was a very enjoyable experience.

Story Stones and Interesting Ideas

The boys and girls have been really creative this morning using the story stones. We have had ideas including rainbows, ladybirds, stars and starfishes! Between groups the grass had been cut, maybe by the fairies from Mrs Stevenson’s fairy garden!
