Yesterday everyone participated in our Sports Day.  They all had a fantastic time, enjoying the sunshine and the variety of activities.  Here are the P4 race winners (Sprint, Sack and Obstacle Race):

The Journey of our Caterpillars

A few weeks ago some special guests arrived in Primary Three – 5 tiny caterpillars. Since then we have watched them grow and form their own chrysalis’.  Along the way we have watched video clips, read information books and observed our caterpillars to find out more about them.

On Monday when we came into school we were all delighted to see five beautiful butterflies! We used the internet to find out that they like to drink the juice of fruit so Mrs Howie kindly gave us some for them. 🙂

So, this afternoon we all went out into our school garden and decided that close to some flowers would be the best place to release them. When we opened their habitat they were a bit shy at first, but eventually we got to see them fly up, up and away!

We are all hoping to see them back in our garden soon. Here are some pictures below;

Our Minibeast Poems

Here are our Minibeast poems which we would like to share with you.

My Butterfly
Beautiful butterfly,
Under the Sun,
Testing her wings,
Elegantly,
Really gentle,
Flying high in the sky,
Lovely Patterns while she flys,
Yesterday was the same.

The Snail

Snails come in different sizes,
Big and small,
short and tall
some snails are fat,
some snails are thin,
but the biggest one is the size of a cricket bat,
there are some differences now and again,
but none of them are as fast as a hen!

The Ladybird
Ladybirds fly all around,
Where theres no place to be found,
Theres one place to hide,
In a bush and such like,
Then at the end of the day,
They fall asleep,
Then tomorrow they come back out again.

Keep on checking our page for more of our wonderful poems!

P4 Bridge Challenge

P3/4 and P4 were given a group challenge to design and build a bridge that would span a piece of A4 paper (river) and would hold a 100g weight.  They were only allowed to use spaghetti and marshmallows!

They had a lot of messy fun building their bridges.
