Sports Day

Well done to all P3/4s who took part in Sports Day this year.  We had a lovely sunny day for all the outdoor events.  All children enthusiastically took part and some even got 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the flat race, obstacle race and sack race.  Well done everyone!

Mini water cycle

P3/4 have been learning about the water cycle.  In groups, they made a mini water cycle, demonstrating condensation with shaving foam (a cloud) and precipitation with blue food colouring (rain).  We have also set some coloured water by an open window in the sunshine to demonstrate evaporation…results of this to follow…

Bridge challenge

P3/4 and P4 worked together in groups to design and make their own bridge.  The challenge was to make the bridge from dry spaghetti and marshmallows! The bridge had to hold a 10g weight and span a piece of A4 paper (water).  They worked very well in groups and came up with some clever ideas!

They even cleaned up after themselves!

p2/3 set our butterflies free!

We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and the butterflies are now ready to be let free into our garden.

They were a bit reluctant to go at first, enjoying the sunshine! Our class have loved looking at them everyday and were a bit sad to see them go.1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 (2) 12
