This week P6/7 took part in an online maths challenge which was run across all the schools in West Lothian. The class finished a fantastic 2nd place and also was the daily winner for the competition on Tuesday. A special well done to Cameron who finished in 2nd place as an individual winner from all the contestants. Keep up the great maths work!

Malawi Photographs
I have posted some photographs from our partner school, Nanjala Primary, in Malawi showing the classrooms of Primary 1 and Primary 7. There is also progress being made with the building of the new classroom. The welcome message on the board was very humbling especially since the school is so short on resources. There was also a collection of locally made crafts which I brought back with me to use as part of an enterprise initiative. Some of the photographs show the very talented P7 children dancing and singing in a welcome celebration. I will continue to post regular updates and photographs.
Nursery Class Autumn
In nursery over the past few weeks we have been learning about Autumn and have made an Autumn display for our wall. The children went for an Autumn walk and then began the display. We had a visit from the Owl Centre which the children really enjoyed. We had fun making Hallowe’en pictures and Firework pictures and this led on to learning about the Festival of Lights known as Diwali. The children made some Rangoli pattern pictures and Diya candles some of which are displayed in the nursery cloakroom.
P7 Basketball Festival
Today all the P7 children took part in a cluster basketball festival at Broxburn Academy. Teams were there from all the cluster schools and each child played in 3 short games. Well done to all.
