Primary 2 and Primary 2/3 were very lucky to have a visit from Mr Isherwood to tell us all about the new Forth Road Bridge for our new topic. The children had a great time listening to how the bridge is being built and they enjoyed seeing the different pieces of materials that make up the bridge. Mr Isherwood brought us some safety equipment too and the children had a great time dressing up.

P2 Snow Globes
A blizzard has descended on the Primary 2 classroom. Our wonderful artists have made snow
globes as part of our weather topic. We will display them for a short time then the children can bring them home to show off their artistic skills. Meanwhile here is a photograph to whet your appetite.

Dear Doctor Abby
This week, we have been looking at the problems that characters in some of our favourite books might have.
To link in with our Writing topic, of letter writing, we thought about writing letters to an advice column on their behalf.
Here are some of the problems, see if you can guess who they belong to:
“My parent’s won’t let me have any books! Help!” – No-Books-Allowed
“My body doesn’t feel like my own!” – Hawkboy
“My husband plays nasty tricks on me!” – Very-Annoyed-Wife
“My parents aren’t around anymore, and my Aunt and Uncle are horrible!” – Boy-With-Scar
“I really want to win this competition, but I’m scared I won’t!” – Stressed-Bucket
Random Act of Kindness
Once again, Primary 5 is adventuring out of class, but fear not(!) our spirits are still high.
We noticed that over the holiday weekend, the infamous Valentine’s Day occurred. However, we didn’t want it to go by unmarked, so we held our own “Random Act of Kindness” Day, where everyone was assigned a “Secret Cupid” and made something for them. We had poems, cards, compliments, cupcakes, real cakes, spreadsheets and more! A lot of work was put into these, and the day was a raging success.
We’re all now looking forward to Valentine’s Day next year!
