P5 have been enjoying the story of ‘Coming Home’ written by Michael Morpurgo.  The story was written for Waitrose and used in their Christmas TV advertisement.  The class have participated in a variety of activities relating to the story.  Here they are taking part in a thought tunnel.

P5 enjoyed a session of Yoga in the classroom.  They had great listening skills, attempted every move and had fun at the same time.

We are getting ready for our Assembly which will be on Friday 10th March. Letters are coming home today.

Be ready to hear some songs, watch some drama, see some art and hear about what we have been learning!

As part of our learning about symmetry, we had a treasure hunt in class. We worked in groups to find things in the class that we thought might be symmetrical. Here are some of the things we found.

We also talked about egg boxes and scissors from the sounds table, the clock and the sand timer. We had a really good discussion and found lots of different things in the classroom.

We are going to have a look at home as well to see what we can find!

This week we have been learning about symmetry. We have played smartboard games and coloured and completed our own patterns and designs to show that we understand what it means when things are symmetrical.

Logan’s mummy came in this morning to help us with our symmetry monsters. Can you see how we have made these? If you look very closely and carefully, you will see who has made them even if there is not a name written!

We had great discussions when we were cutting out and sticking our monsters! We understood why they all look different – do you know why that would be?
