P6H had a Victorian School day last week. The children came dressed to school in Victorian outfits and learned their 3 Rs – Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. The children were all very well behaved and enjoyed the whole experience. Mrs Hunter enjoyed it too!
In Primary 4C we have been thinking about our reading recommendations for the Christmas holidays. Here is one of our keen readers. A little nervous, but didn’t he do well? Mrs Sutherland is having a tech nightmare trying to upload these – more to follow once I know what I’m doing!!
Today P6B travelled back in time to 1894 to experience a day at a Victorian school. We had lessons on the three “Rs”. We used slates and when our writing was neat enough we were allowed to use pen and ink. Most of us enjoyed having drill in the playground!
Both P6 classes have been learning about Judaism. One of the children brought in some Jewish artefacts and talked to the class about them. The children also made their own Menorah (a nine-candle candle holder) pictures.
Yesterday P4 attended the cluster benchball tournament at Broxburn Academy. The class had a fantastic time and showed true team spirit and sportsmanship. Well done to all the children who participated and represented the school in such a wonderful way.
