Today the class went outside for a Science experiment linked to the topic of Air Resistance. We were testing to see what the effect of running with an umbrella open and shut would have on our speed over a set distance. Our results showed that the air resistance slowed us down by approximately a second as we ran. It was great fun.
Today the Primary 6/7 class took part in a Singing Workshop which was run by a member of the Howden Park Centre. The children enjoyed developing their skills and techniques relevant to singing and performing.
A huge well done to all the pupils who took part in the Burn’s Celebration today. The singing, dancing and poetry recitals were fabulous. A special mention goes to Mrs Baird from the Nursery who piped in all guests as they were arriving and also piped in the haggis.
P6/7 class got off to a good start this year by making lava lamps in Science. Christopher brought in some instructions on how to make one and we worked in groups to make our own. Amazing what can be done with some vegetable oil and food colouring!
This week P6/7 took part in an online maths challenge which was run across all the schools in West Lothian. The class finished a fantastic 2nd place and also was the daily winner for the competition on Tuesday. A special well done to Cameron who finished in 2nd place as an individual winner from all the contestants. Keep up the great maths work!
