We have learning how to code using Microbits and made flashing hearts and a rock, paper, scissors game.  We have also learned about Egypt and how mummies are made.  In writing we wrote a diary entry for the High School.  We have learned food items and school items in French.  For our Maths we have been learning our BODMAS.

For writing we have been doing response writing and writing about Van Gogh.  In PE we have started a new block on gymnastics. We have been practising our Maths using Roman Numerals.  We learned a new number talks strategy called proportional representation and we use this when we divide.  Our new history topic is Egypt and we have been looking at artefacts this week.  We have also been doing some Rennie MacIntosh artwork.

This week we have been learning the days of the week in French.  In Maths we are learning about negative numbers and used double sided counters.  Last week we learned how to calculate percentages.  We wrote reports all about India and are making fact files.  We have been learning different spelling patterns and used ‘fancy letters’ to practise them.

In Numeracy this week we have been learning how to add fractions.  We have also been learning the adding up strategy in Number Talks.  We have been learning about firework safety.  Our topic is India and we created rangoli patterns this week after learning about the Diwali festival.

A huge well done to three of our P7 pupils for achieving  a bronze level award for the Scottish Maths Challenge.  They attended an award ceremony today at Edinburgh Napier University where they received their certificate.
