Nanjala Primary Malawi Update
Yesterday I received some photographs from Owen our partnership co-ordinator from Nanjala Primary. The new classroom is nearing completion
and local craftsmen have completed 20 of the new desks which will make learning much easier for the Standard 8 children ( S1 high school level). The completion of this new classroom means that the children can stay at the school for another year and won’t have to walk the 6km to the nearest school with Standard 8 provision. The building was funded by local government with the Parent Committee providing the water and mortar. So far we have raised nearly £280 from our ‘Making a Mile for Malawi’ fundraising initiative to help pay for these desks. Please keep the 1p and 2p coins coming in to help us meet our £500 target.
P2 and P2/3 Forth Road Bridge
Primary 2 and Primary 2/3 were very lucky to have a visit from Mr Isherwood to tell us all about the new Forth Road Bridge for our new topic. The children had a great time listening to how the bridge is being built and they enjoyed seeing the different pieces of materials that make up the bridge. Mr Isherwood brought us some safety equipment too and the children had a great time dressing up.
