Reminder- Scottish Parent Teacher Council Training Event

***********REMINDER*********

Invitation to our FREE session

Involving All Parents
Uphall Primary School, Uphall EH52 6TE
Wednesday 26 April 2017 6pm-8pm
Refreshments from 5.45pm

All parents are welcome to attend the sessions which are run in an informal, parent-friendly way with plenty of opportunities for discussion and questions. They are a great chance to learn more about how to run your group effectively and also to meet other parents and swap ideas. This session looks at the challenges parents and carers often face in engaging with their child’s school and Parent Council and how your PC can help to overcome them, encourage more involvement in learning and the school community.
We share lots of ideas for making your Parent Council more welcoming and how to recruit more members.

To book your FREE place, go online to our Eventbrite page at https://iap_uphallprimary.eventbrite.com

Primary 4K MoneySense

Today the children in Primary 4K were joined by Christine, Richard and Susan from the Royal Bank of Scotland as part of the MoneySense initiative. We had a fabulous time planning a birthday party, working out what we could buy on a budget and presenting our ideas to the rest of the class. We would like to thank our volunteers for their input and support.

FAST Programme-

In association with Save the Children, Uphall Primary is delighted to be hosting the Families and Schools Together Programme (FAST).
We are looking for 20 Primary 2 and Primary 3 families to take part in the programme which is designed for families to come together after school. There will be opportunities for the children to play, parents to chat and for everyone to share a meal. There will be 8 weekly sessions of 2 hours duration on a Friday afternoon with a graduation ceremony at the end of the block. The intended start date for the programme will be Friday 28th April from 12.30-2.30pm.

Volunteers
We are also looking for parents or extended family members and community volunteers to help with the delivery of the programme. Volunteers will undertake 2 days training at Uphall Primary on 28th and 29th March in readiness for the programme beginning at the end of April.
Please contact the school if you would like to participate.
I have added a link below for a short You Tube video which gives more detail.

Many thanks
