This week we have been learning the ‘wa’ sound. We have been making words with this sound and we have been reading words with this sound. Some of the words that we have made are;
Ross- wash
Erin – wasp
Aidan – water
Paige – was
Daniel – wander
Charlotte – walk

This afternoon we have been using the internet to find out about different roman mosaic designs like the ones below, which were our favorite. We enjoyed creating our designs, laying these out on our mosaic boards and gluing these down. We worked with our peers to help one another to complete our designs. Now we need to use grout to seal in the gaps between our tiles.

This morning we all performed in our class Assembly. We have been working very hard this term in Health and we had a chance to show off all of our learning this morning. Some of us took part in a piece of Drama about emotions, some of us learned and read out a poem and Ella and Aaron told us what makes them happy.
Here are some of our favourite moments from our assembly;
Isla – I liked the part of the drama where the Princess met Puss in Boots.
Willow – I liked singing all of the songs.
Aiden – I really enjoyed learning and taking part in the dance!
Daniel – I liked all of the drama and I also liked the part where the Princess met the singing tree.
Brandyn – I liked it when the Princess met the wizard.
Erin – I liked joining in with the dancing and adding our own moves!
Ella – I liked the part of drama where the wizard cast a spell.
Reece – I liked the part when the Princess met the wolf!
Rebecca – I liked the part when I got to shine the mirror at the wizard to make the spell rebound. I also liked when the Princess met the singing tree.
Taya – I liked taking part in the Happy dance and seeing my mum at the end!
Freya – I liked joining in with dance.
Paige – I liked when were doing the dance because my sister sings it too.
Conor – I liked singing all of the songs.
Callan – I liked singing all of the songs too.
Charlotte – I liked dancing.
Amy – I liked joining in with the ‘Happy’ dance.
Aaron – I liked singing the songs.
Alexander- I enjoyed being Puss in Boots in the drama.
Last week we talked about what we enjoyed learning about in Term 3. Here are some of our thoughts below;
Oliver – I enjoyed learning to count quickly in 2’s.
Sophie – I enjoyed learning to count in 10’s in different games.
Kaiden – I enjoyed learning to balance in different ways during gymnastics.
Thomas – I enjoyed listening to lots of interesting information about the new Forth crossing when my dad came to speak to my class. We learned lots of new facts and even got to try on some safety clothes.
Kasey – I enjoyed making a rain gauge in science to measure the rainfall.
A few weeks ago some special guests arrived in Primary Three – 5 tiny caterpillars. Since then we have watched them grow and form their own chrysalis’. Along the way we have watched video clips, read information books and observed our caterpillars to find out more about them.
On Monday when we came into school we were all delighted to see five beautiful butterflies! We used the internet to find out that they like to drink the juice of fruit so Mrs Howie kindly gave us some for them. 🙂
So, this afternoon we all went out into our school garden and decided that close to some flowers would be the best place to release them. When we opened their habitat they were a bit shy at first, but eventually we got to see them fly up, up and away!
We are all hoping to see them back in our garden soon. Here are some pictures below;
