Signs of spring

Our children have noticed some signs of spring out in the nursery garden. They have been talking about how the trees are changing and how the flowers are starting to grow.  Our children talked about what seeds need to help them grow and they enjoyed planting seeds of their own.

We need to water our seeds and make sure that they are in a sunny place. We are really enjoying watching as our seeds sprout and grow.

Dinosaur Dioramas

In Primary 1, we have been looking at dioramas and learning how to make them ourselves. We have a project to make one at home and here are some of them already.

There were some really clever ideas, including a knitted dinosaur and a knitted caveman, a plastic egg with a dinosaur inside it, cotton wool clouds, a flying velociraptor and pipe cleaner trees!

Look out for them next week at parents’ night!

How to Make a Dinosaur

In Primary 1S we have been very busy making our own clay dinosaurs. Some of us brought dinosaurs in from home so that we could look at the different features, like horns and wings and tails.

We worked in small groups and had good discussions about how to use the clay.

Here are some of our dinosaurs which we hope you like!

Primary 4K MoneySense

Today the children in Primary 4K were joined by Christine, Richard and Susan from the Royal Bank of Scotland as part of the MoneySense initiative. We had a fabulous time planning a birthday party, working out what we could buy on a budget and presenting our ideas to the rest of the class. We would like to thank our volunteers for their input and support.
