We are P6!

This is going to be a busy term. We will be looking at how to write biographies, autobiographies and science reports. In maths we will be concentrating on measurement, initially looking at length but then we will investigate volume. Our topics this term will be to research our local history by investigating the shale mining era in West Lothian and looking a little further back, we will be looking at Bannockburn. Lots and lots to do and learn.

P1/2 Literacy Time

Over these sessions we have been learning all about nouns, verbs and adjectives.  We have been learning how to improve our story sentences by adding these special words in.  Last week we learned what an adverb is and how to use it in a sentence.  One of our favourite games in class is ‘Silly Sentences’.  We like making up silly sentences with the jigsaw and then we try to add in adjewctives and adverbs to make it an exciting sentence!

Can you make this sentence exciting?

The cat jumped up the tree.

Primary 3 – The Enchanted Wood

Hello Primary 3

Welcome to our new blog page. This term our topic is The Enchanted Wood. We are going to be exploring our local woodland and finding out about the different animals which live there.

Caring for our local area is also something we will be learning about. Last week with Mrs Creaney we were out in the playground  and collected two full bags of litter!

Keep on checking our blog page for updates on our topic!

Primary 5-Fractions

We will be continuing to work on Fractions in class this week.  You could develop your knowledge of  proper fractions, improper fractions and mixed number fractions by playing some of the games on Topmarks.co.uk (7-11 Years Learning Games).

P7 Young Apprentice

Primary 7 have started their new topic – the Young Apprentice! We have spent the last 2 weeks organising our companies, designing logos and slogans and refreshing our budgeting skills. We will soon be designing our own products and presenting them to ‘buyers’! Check back soon to see what else we have been doing. Good luck Primary 7!
