{"id":9687,"date":"2016-01-22T12:54:23","date_gmt":"2016-01-22T12:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=9687"},"modified":"2016-01-22T12:55:08","modified_gmt":"2016-01-22T12:55:08","slug":"p5-kings-of-scotland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2016\/01\/22\/p5-kings-of-scotland\/","title":{"rendered":"P5&#8230;Kings of Scotland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we all applied for the job \u201cKing Of Scotland\u201d!\u00a0 We used our learning from our Social Studies topic Wallace and Bruce and linked it with our Literacy work in which we developed the Life Skill of filling out an application form.\u00a0 On the application we had to state our reasons why we wanted to be King\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026it would be an Honour\u201d (by Aiden)<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026I would be free to do whatever I want and care for my people\u201d (by Reece)<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026a brilliant opportunity for me to listen to other people\u2019s ideas.\u201d (by Emily)<\/p>\n<p>We also had to say what qualities we have for this role\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026I have courage\u201d (by Mia St)<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026I am loyal\u201d (by Alistair)<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026I have strong opinions about my country\u201d (by Neave)<\/p>\n<p>As you can see the children had some amazing ideas and Mrs Docherty and Mr McCann, who worked with the children on this lesson, both commented on how focused and hard working they all were.\u00a0 Mr McCann gave everyone a Dojo point!<\/p>\n<p>In Maths we have continued to work on our CLIC sessions.\u00a0 Through these sessions we have been working on counting up in 25s, which we were all very good at, so we uplevelled this to counting in 2.5s.\u00a0 We all agreed it was \u201c<em>nothing new<\/em>\u201d and we really enjoyed the satisfaction of being able to do this.\u00a0 We are continuing to work on our links between division and multiplication.
