Today is about self-assessing; how have you got on with your learning this week?<\/p>\n

Literacy<\/u><\/p>\n

We will be using tickled pink and green for growth for self-assessing your writing. Let\u2019s begin with your writing task this week.<\/p>\n

I made some mistakes on my story which was posted on the daily blog post on Wednesday? Did you spot my mistakes?<\/p>\n

A little green alien wif<\/u><\/strong><\/span> a fluffy tail went on A<\/u><\/strong><\/span> rocket.<\/p>\n

2 mistakes \u2013 wif<\/u><\/strong><\/span> spelt wrong = with<\/u><\/strong><\/span>. Capital letter in middle of sentence A<\/u><\/strong><\/span> = a<\/u><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

the<\/u><\/strong><\/span> rocket was fast and took the alien to the beach.<\/p>\n

1 mistake \u2013 Capital letter is missing at beginning of the sentence. the<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>= The<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At the beach thi<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>alien went in the sea for a swim <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2 mistakes \u2013 Sight word spelt wrong. thi <\/u><\/strong><\/span>= the<\/u><\/strong><\/span>. Missing full stop swim <\/u><\/strong><\/span>= swim.<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201ci<\/u><\/strong><\/span> love the beach\u201d, said the alien, hee<\/u><\/strong><\/span> didn\u2019t want to go back to the moon.<\/p>\n

2 mistakes \u2013 Missing capital letter i<\/u><\/strong><\/span> = I<\/u><\/strong><\/span>. Sight word spelt wrong. hee<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>= he<\/u><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Did you manage to include all of the success criteria in your writing this week? I have included the success criteria below for you to check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
Leave a finger space between words.<\/span><\/strong><\/td>\nSpells sight words correctly.<\/span><\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Use capital letters and full stops.<\/span><\/strong><\/td>\nUse awareness of sounds to sound out unfamiliar words.<\/span><\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Get a pink pen\/crayon\/pencil and draw a circle around 1 or 2 examples of each part of the success criteria you achieved in your writing.<\/span> Using a green pen\/crayon\/pencil have you missed out any parts of the success criteria? Ask an adult to help you check that you wrote all your sounds correct way (no reversals) and formed letters such as y, g, f, j (letters where the tails comes under the line) correctly. Mark these with a green pen if you have not formed them correctly and write each 3 times to develop your formation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week we are using \u2018thumbs up\u2019 strategy to assess our learning. Some of the tasks you have completed you will be thinking if you can:<\/p>\n

Thumbs up\/green \u2013 can do it and can move on.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thumbs in middle\/yellow: almost there, a bit more practise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thumbs down\/red: need more help.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can talk about this to someone at home or use the colours which represents each \u2018thumb\u2019 at the top of each piece of work you completed. Please let me know if there is something which are feeling \u2018red\/thumbs down\u2019 for and I can provide you with extra activities to help support you with your learning.<\/p>\n

How did you get on with writing the \u2018j\u2019 sound? Which \u2018thumb\u2019 would you show for writing this sound? Are you remembering to get the tail under the line? If you practised writing this sound in your jotter draw a coloured circle which responds to the thumb on your page to show how you felt you got on with this task.<\/p>\n
