{"id":22045,"date":"2020-02-07T13:41:16","date_gmt":"2020-02-07T13:41:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=22045"},"modified":"2020-02-07T13:41:42","modified_gmt":"2020-02-07T13:41:42","slug":"p3-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2020\/02\/07\/p3-news\/","title":{"rendered":"P3 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Learning Overview<\/p>\n<p>Literacy<\/p>\n<p>This week we have been focusing on writing explanations and we wrote about the life cycle of a plant.\u00a0 \u00a0The writing was really impressive with fabulous openers, paragraphs and topic vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p>Our Word Boost book was Black Dog and our boost words were demand, agree, follow, shrink, barricade and opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>In Spanish we have learnt about weather phrases and days of the week.<\/p>\n<p>Maths<\/p>\n<p>In numeracy we have used think mats which have helped us to use pictures to solve problems and in maths we have explored length. Everyone has had great fun measuring tables, doors and each other!<\/p>\n<p>STEM<\/p>\n<p>This week we have explored the science of flight, programmed Beebots to travel around the classroom, investigated the work of Steve Jobs and written code to solve Minecraft puzzles using <a href=\"http:\/\/code.org\">code.org\u00a0 <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pupil Voice<\/p>\n<p>Abu Bakr \u2013 I liked learning to code on code.org\u00a0 We had to watch a video to find out what to do then we used programming skills to move a Minecraft character and solve challenges.\u00a0 We set the target of writing 10 lines of code.\u00a0 We managed to write 21 lines of code!<\/p>\n<p>Victoria \u2013 I liked creating x-ray pictures of my hand.\u00a0 Xrays are a medical invention.\u00a0 We created x-ray pictures with blac-k paper and paper straws.\u00a0 I was proud of my work.<\/p>\n<p>Milena \u2013 I liked learning to programme Beebots to travel in a shape.\u00a0 We chose a square.\u00a0 We could record our learning using an iPad.<\/p>\n<p>Home Learning<\/p>\n<p>Keep working on addition and subtraction using this game<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/number-facts\/number-fact-families\">https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/number-facts\/number-fact-families<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Try writing some code at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.code.org\">code.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next week we will be learning about Internet Safety.
