{"id":21955,"date":"2019-12-13T16:26:30","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T16:26:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=21955"},"modified":"2019-12-13T16:26:30","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T16:26:30","slug":"primary-3-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2019\/12\/13\/primary-3-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 3 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Weekly Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We all loved watching Primary 1 and 2 perform the Nativity story this week\u00a0 We were very impressed with their talent!<\/p>\n<p>In maths we have been learning to tell the time to o&#8217;clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past.<\/p>\n<p>In literacy we have been writing expositions about why we should eat healthy snacks.\u00a0 Look out for these in our writing jotters.\u00a0 Handwriting has been a focus and everyone is making fantastic progress with their joined writing.\u00a0 Talking and listening has been a key area of learning as everyone presented their book talks and got involved in peer-assessing their friends.<\/p>\n<p>Resilience has been our focus in health and well-being and we have been creating recipes for a Growth Mindset.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone has developed their creative skills this week as we have made Christmas trees and angel decorations.\u00a0 These will be coming home next week.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to all of this we have completed assessments in reading and writing.\u00a0 What a busy week!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pupil Voice<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We loved singing Santa Shark to our parents at the Christmas Singalong!<\/li>\n<li>We loved playing games when we were telling the time.<\/li>\n<li>We all did a book talk about our favourite book.<\/li>\n<li>Creating Christmas trees was fun.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Steps &#8211; Home Learning Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This weekend please support your child&#8217;s learning in maths by telling the time to the hour, half past, quarter to and quarter past on an analogue clock.<\/p>\n<p>Reading books have been collected in for the term but please spend extra time with your child reading favourite stories.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve loved listening to Christmas stories online this week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Weekly Highlights We all loved watching Primary 1 and 2 perform the Nativity story this week\u00a0 We were very impressed with their talent!
