{"id":21908,"date":"2019-12-06T11:38:29","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T11:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=21908"},"modified":"2019-12-06T11:38:29","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T11:38:29","slug":"p1-news-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2019\/12\/06\/p1-news-3\/","title":{"rendered":"P1 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Learning Highlights\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Literacy<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of our rainbow learning activities this week has been writing a letter to our naughty elf &#8211; Snowflake.<\/li>\n<li>We have been listening carefully to the difference between the b and d sounds.<\/li>\n<li>We have been finding the &#8216;g&#8217; and &#8216;u&#8217; sounds tricky and we have extending our knowledge of these by spelling and reading words with these sounds in\u00a0 them.<\/li>\n<li>During our reading activities, we have been developing our higher ordering thinking skills and answering tricky questions about our book.<\/li>\n<li>Our reading aloud was excellent this week and we had a discussion about what different strategies we could use if we find it tricky to read a word.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Numeracy<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have been using the rekenreks to show different amounts during number talks. This has been helping us with our mental addition.<\/li>\n<li>One of our rainbow learning activities was an addition smart board game. We have been trying to put a number in our head and count on. Link for this game is below.<\/li>\n<li>We enjoyed playing some fairy tale games which helped us to count on when we rolled a number on the dice. We would try to guess what number we might land on by counting on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Pupil Voice<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Chloe: I liked practising for the Nativity. My favourite bit is the singing.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie F: I liked making the stockings and using the new pens. A snowman was on my stocking. My made the stockings for the Christmas Fair.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie J: I liked practising the Nativity because I like singing.<\/p>\n<p>Carly: I liked when I got the golden ticket because I done really good work.<\/p>\n<p>Grace: I liked colouring in with the pens.<\/p>\n<p>Ollie: I liked drawing the stockings.<\/p>\n<p>Reka: I liked PE, we were playing fruit basket.<\/p>\n<p>Max: I liked making the stockings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Parental Involvement\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We played this game as one of our rainbow learning activities:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/Flash.aspx?f=PostSortingcalculationsv2<\/p>\n<p>We are going to be singing this song for the &#8216;Cakes and Carols&#8217; event next week.
