{"id":21783,"date":"2019-11-15T10:28:42","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T10:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=21783"},"modified":"2019-11-15T10:28:42","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T10:28:42","slug":"p5-weekly-update-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2019\/11\/15\/p5-weekly-update-6\/","title":{"rendered":"P5 Weekly Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Learning Overview <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week in P5 we have had many learning highlights. \u00a0In maths we have been learning about symmetry and we made links across the curriculum and continued to develop our understanding of symmetry through art.<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed free writing Friday as it gives us the opportunity to use our imagination.<\/p>\n<p>We had an exciting trip to Jupiter Artland where we got to meet the different sculptures and made our very own journey sticks to bring home.<\/p>\n<p>As part of our writing lesson, learning about writing procedural texts, we made slime. It was a great learning experience for us and made us appreciate the importance of measurements of ingredients when making slime.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pupil Voice<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked doing art because we made a silhouette to celebrate Remembrance Day\u201d \u2013 James<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked doing the symmetry art because we didn\u2019t just make pictures we also got to use dots and rulers to make a really cool shape!\u201d- Wojtek<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed making the journey stick at Jupiter Artland\u201d \u2013 Alishba<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI enjoyed the trip to Jupiter Artland and I guessed that the stone on the first sculpture was Obsidian and loved when we got to go into the Amethyst cave!\u201d \u2013 Ahmad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI liked free writing Friday because I wrote about a racing game called \u201cForza Horizon 4!\u201d &#8211; Kayden<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Parent Involvement<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Big Talk \u2013 Ask your child about the key features of a procedural text.<\/p>\n<p>Search for symmetry in your local environment\/ play a symmetry game\/ design a symmetrical picture together (tip- using graph paper will make this easier\u2026.we have tried!).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learning Overview This week in P5 we have had many learning highlights. \u00a0In maths we have been learning about symmetry and we made links across the curriculum and continued to develop our understanding of symmetry through art.
