How can we use PEF to support all children and families at St Ninian&#8217;s?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2019\/05\/1286879.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-21095\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2019\/05\/1286879-150x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"82\" height=\"164\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last year we received <strong>\u00a363,000<\/strong> funding from the Scottish Government\u2019s Pupil Equity Fund to help close the poverty related attainment gap.<\/p>\n<p>We used this money to:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an extra support for learning teacher (Mrs Scott) to provide extra literacy and numeracy support in all classes<\/li>\n<li>Employ a Polish Pupil Support Worker to support children who are learning English<\/li>\n<li>Run a PEEP (family learning) class for parents and nursery children<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the cost of after school clubs, camps and trips<\/li>\n<li>Employ a Speech &amp; Language therapist to work with identified groups of children from nursery \u2013 P3<\/li>\n<li>Provide high quality professional learning for all staff.<\/li>\n<li>Purchase new writing resources for P1-7 to improve children\u2019s attainment in writing<\/li>\n<li>Employ an extra teacher to support us with Number Talks across P1-7<\/li>\n<li>Purchase a numeracy home learning kit for P2-4 pupils \u2013 these will be launched in August<\/li>\n<li>Purchase new netbooks and iPads for each class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will receive <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>\u00a360,000 <\/strong><\/span>PEF funding this year.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think our school should <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><em>STOP<\/em><\/strong><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">,<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff9900\"><strong>START <\/strong><\/span>and <span style=\"color: #339966\"><strong>CONTINUE <\/strong><\/span><\/em>to do to help <strong>all <\/strong>our children make progress and to support <strong>all <\/strong>families?<\/p>\n<p>Please add your comments below.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last year we received \u00a363,000 funding from the Scottish Government\u2019s Pupil Equity Fund to help close the poverty related attainment gap.
