They have\u00a0 established\u00a0 letter formation skills that reinforce this understanding by joining the sounds. They have developed more explicit awareness that <strong>oi<\/strong> \u00a0<em>consists of 2 sounds <\/em>= <strong>o+ee<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is therefore a described as a moving vowel sound and lives on the lift!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Shay- I know that \u2018boil\u2019 has the oi sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Adam \u2013 Soil has the oi sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Szymon- this week we have also learned the \u2018ou\u2019 sound.<\/p>\n<p>Miss Boyes- The children developed their ability to establish their understanding that these two letters make one sound. They have developed more explicit awareness that <strong>ou<\/strong> \u00a0<em>consists of 2 sounds <\/em>= <strong>a+oo<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is therefore a described as a moving vowel sound and lives on the lift!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Emilie \u2013 The ou sound is a moving\u00a0 sound which lives in the lift.<\/p>\n<p>Ethan- The word \u2018out\u2019 has the \u2018ou\u2019 sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Joanna the word \u2018house\u2019 has the \u2018ou\u2019 sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Lily- \u2018Mountain\u2019 has the \u2018ou\u2019 sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Liam- An activity that we enjoyed this week was when we had to sort lots of pictures into the box labelled with either igh, ou or oi.<\/p>\n<p>Connor- These long vowel sounds are usually in the middle of the word.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last week we learned the \u2018igh\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Adam- \u2018sight\u2019 has the \u2018igh\u2019 sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua \u2013 \u2018might\u2019\u00a0 has the igh sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed playing the dragon\u2019s den phonics game.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phonicsplay.co.uk\/DragonsDen.html\">https:\/\/www.phonicsplay.co.uk\/DragonsDen.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We chose the \u00a0oi and ou sound options.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rvdehRHSBXY<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JjOtMya-ZPQ<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We went to the library this week.<\/p>\n<p>Miss Boyes, Mrs Kinnaird and our parent helpers read us a story. We got to choose which story we wanted to listen to.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lily- &#8220;I loved the story &#8216;Mad about Mega Beasts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adam- \u201cI enjoyed listening to &#8216;Plunge into the pirate pool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emilie- \u201cI enjoyed listening to &#8216;Hugless Douglas and the Big Sleepover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lucy- We were writing instructions for how to brush our teeth.<\/p>\n<p>Julian- We had to use the word first at the beginning of our sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis- They had to be in the correct order.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua- We had to use the word next.<\/p>\n<p>Adam- We used the word last or finally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This week in number we were learning to;<\/p>\n<p>Emileigh-Rose: order the numbers 0 to 20.<\/p>\n<p>Shakti- We had to write the numbers that were missing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed playing these games<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/ordering-and-sequencing\/coconut-ordering\">https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/ordering-and-sequencing\/coconut-ordering<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/ordering-and-sequencing\/caterpillar-ordering\">https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/ordering-and-sequencing\/caterpillar-ordering<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/Flash.aspx?f=SpringNumber\">https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/Flash.aspx?f=SpringNumber<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend from Miss Boyes and P1B!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have learned the \u2018oi\u2019 sound this week.
