This week we were revising some of our sounds.<\/p>\n
Emilie- We have been checking our learning of wh and ng.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know that \u2018whiskers\u2019 has the wh sound.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lily- We have been checking our learning of the j sound.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know that \u2018Jam\u2019 started with j.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Liam- \u201cI noticed that the ng sound is normally at the end of the word. It is at the end of the word \u00a0swing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Writing<\/p>\n
Adam \u2013 \u201cWe were writing a recipe for How to Make Rice Crispy Cakes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Julian- \u201cI tried to sound out the word chocolate.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joshua- \u201cWe had to include the openers from the mighty writer board.\u201d<\/p>\n
Emilie- \u201cOur recipe had to be in order so that people knew when to do each part.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lucy- \u201cWe drew a picture of the ingredients.\u201d<\/p>\n

In numeracy this week we have been using our addition and subtraction skills to complete fact families.<\/p>\n
Isla- We use 3 numbers to make 2 adding sums and 2 take away sums.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
If we had the numbers 5, 2 and 7<\/p>\n
Liam- We could do 5 + 2 = 7<\/p>\n
Syzmon- We could do 2 + 5 = 7<\/p>\n
Joanna- 7 \u2013 2 = 5<\/p>\n
Joshua- 7 \u2013 5 = 2<\/p>\n

We enjoyed playing the fact families game on the smartboard.<\/p>\n

This will help you find the answer which is 10.<\/p>\n In Science this week we have been learning we have enjoyed making moon sand, we used our problem solving skills to figure out how to measure and mix the ingredients.<\/p>\n We have been learning about the rotation of the Earth in relation to the sun. We used a torch to face the globe. We rotated the globe and pointed out that when 1 half of Earth is illuminated the other is in darkness.<\/p>\n We have been making pictures to represent the sun shining onto the earth to make it daytime.<\/p>\n Our learning in science led us to ask how close Earth and other planets are to the sun.
