You use the dark blue \u2018th\u2019 sound in a sight word.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: they are different colours.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: that sound is a \u2018t\u2019 and a \u2018h\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: the \u2018th\u2019 sound and the \u2018f\u2019 sound the same. The \u2018f\u2019 sound is pink and the \u2018th\u2019 sound is blue.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: bath has the \u2018th\u2019 sound at the end.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: path has the \u2018th\u2019 sound at the end.<\/p>\n<p>Celine: think has the \u2018th\u2019 sound at the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fJ5odH4nSjE<\/p>\n<p>Please note that next week is a revision week for phonics and word boost &#8211; no new sounds in sounds jotter and no parent postcards for word boost.<\/p>\n<p>New sight words or sight words information will be sent home with homework on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Writing<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Pati: we are having a party for the castle.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: we are having a banquet and we had to write an invitation.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: you had to write what people would need to know.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: we had to write where it is.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: they had to know when it is. The 8<sup>th<\/sup> of March.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: It is at 11am.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: people might not come if you don\u2019t make it exciting.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the exciting things\u00a0 we included in our invitations:<\/p>\n<p>Luke: There will cakes and castles.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: I wrote that there are books because my mummy loves reading.<\/p>\n<p>Mara: There will be a crown.<\/p>\n<p>Paul: There is cake.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Word Boost<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Roma: we were reading a book called \u2018The Smartest Giant in Town\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: the giant gave his belt to the dog who was trying to cross the bog and his trousers fell down.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: he gave his shoe to a mouse because they didn\u2019t have a home.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: in the story a goat needed a sail and the smartest giant gave his t-shirt away for the sail.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: the giraffe\u2019s neck was cold so he gave away his tie to the giraffe because it looked like a scarf.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: a boost word is smart it means you look tidy.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: a boost word is perfect it means it can\u2019t be any better.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle: a boost word is comfortable it means you are very very warm<\/p>\n<p>Jane: you would feel cosy too<\/p>\n<p>Anna: a boost word is match it means that it is the same as something else.<\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Numeracy<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Shea: you can use your fingers to subtract.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: the rekenreks and the blocks help if there was a tricky sum. You could have 12 then you took 11 away the rekenreks and blocks would help you.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: we have been doing take away and 12 take away 11 is 1, I just knew it because 11 is 1 less 12.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: you can use your head to do subtraction. You put a number in your head and use your fingers to count back.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: if you subtract the number gets smaller.<\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Topic<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Anna: we were learning about Edinburgh castle.<\/p>\n<p>Paul: there is a 1 o\u2019clock gun it makes a bang noise at 1 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: there are stairs they aren\u2019t straight they are a wee bit bendy.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: there is a crown in the castle.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: we made our canons with a balloon, tape and a toilet roll tube.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: you have to pull the balloon and you let go and the ball comes out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our castle banquet is on Friday.
