{"id":20451,"date":"2019-01-25T11:37:57","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T11:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=20451"},"modified":"2019-01-25T11:37:57","modified_gmt":"2019-01-25T11:37:57","slug":"p1d-weekly-news-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2019\/01\/25\/p1d-weekly-news-5\/","title":{"rendered":"P1D Weekly News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>Phonics<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We learned 2 new sounds this week.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: the oa sound, you make it with a \u2018o\u2019 then a \u2018a\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Celine: goat had the oa sound in it.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: the ai sound, it is an &#8216;a&#8217; then an &#8216;i&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: they are both black sounds because they are from the vowel house.<\/p>\n<p>Logan: I was learning the \u2018f\u2019 sound this week.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: I was learning the \u2018f\u2019 sound too, the f is in the middle of the word elephant.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: all the sounds in the vowel house are black.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: we were trying to sort out the words in our jotters. We used salt and vinegar to clean the coins and it went nice and shiny.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: we put money into a boat and if you put lots of money on the boat it would sink.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: we had to stick the coins in order. The order was 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: I liked colouring in the piggy bank for the credit union competition.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: I liked in the tuff tray. You had to find money and put the coin into the right box.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: I liked making a money caterpillar.<\/p>\n<p>We used this game on the netbooks this week:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/money\/toy-shop-money<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Word Boost<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Carter: The story was a train who was scared of the dark.<\/p>\n<p>Pati: cosy is a boost word. This means you are warm not cold.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: passenger is another boost word. Passenger is someone on a vehicle but the driver is not a passenger.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: terrified is a boost scared. It means you a very, very, very scared.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: entrance is the last boost word.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: it means like a door.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the story here. Can you hear the boost words? He said that he had never been to the shop. We had to write instructions for him so he could go to the shops.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: He told us he had lots of 50p\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Mara: He gave us 50p for everyone for hard work and we could buy a treat.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: we used words like first, next and then when we were writing our instructions. We weren\u2019t allowed to use the word I.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: I wrote \u201cfirst go and buy a toy. Next pay. Then go home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Topic<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Rojin: we started painting for our castle.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: we are building a castle.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: we used a sponge to paint the bricks for the castle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>RE<\/u><\/p>\n<p>We were learning about Jesus healing others. We listened to this story about the Ten Lepers:<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jesus Heals the Ten Leppers Luke 17 Sunday School Lesson Resource\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wflOv7Eh3e0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Lucas: we were learning to take care of the bible.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: the people in the story were sick and Jesus said to go to the priest and they went and felt better.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: only 1 person said thank you to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Pati: Jesus felt good.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Outdoor Learning<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Roma: we went to the shop because the elf gave us 50p.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: we picked a sweetie.<\/p>\n<p>Mara: I picked a spray.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: I picked a sweetie.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle: we paid in the shop.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: we went onto a hill at school to slide. I went really fast.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: me and Freya were sliding and Freya get falling and she was rolling and rolling and then I was sliding and rolling and rolling too.<\/p>\n<p>Mara: I was sliding on the ice. It was fun.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: we went to the park and I played.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: We were playing and I was sliding down the slide. It was really slippery because it was all icy.<\/p>\n<p>Logan: We were wearing welly boots because we were walking in the water.<\/p>\n<p>Olivier: I liked playing in the football pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Paul: I like playing outside with my friends.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>PE<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Amelia: we are doing gymnastics.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: we have been rolling in PE.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: we have been balancing.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: I was doing a handstand.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: I went on the rings and Mr McCurdy helped me do a handstand.<\/p>\n<p>Igor: I done bunny hops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Phonics We learned 2 new sounds this week.
