{"id":20374,"date":"2019-01-11T11:24:49","date_gmt":"2019-01-11T11:24:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=20374"},"modified":"2019-01-11T11:24:49","modified_gmt":"2019-01-11T11:24:49","slug":"p1d-news-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2019\/01\/11\/p1d-news-3\/","title":{"rendered":"P1D News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Phonics<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The sounds we have been learning this week are&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Anna: the ee sound and the oo sound.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: both the sounds are black.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: that means they come from the vowel house.<\/p>\n<p>Layla: you need two \u2018e\u2019 for the ee sound.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: you need two \u2018o\u2019 for the oo sound.<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: the ee sound in the vowel house has a donkey.<\/p>\n<p>Celine: the donkey makes the ee sound.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: the oo sound in the vowel house has a ghost.<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: joining the sounds on paper \u2013 ee and oo.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: we were writing names too.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the ee and oo songs to help us with our learning:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5jj1WAkE6mQ<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pxiRp9Vxz98<\/p>\n<p>Search for &#8216;Geraldine the Giraffe&#8217; on you tube to find different videos of sounds to support understanding of sounds in words.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Maths<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roma: 1p is a wee circle and has a number 1 on it and 2p is a bigger circle and has a 2 on it. They are brown.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle: 5p is small and is silver. 10p is big and is silver.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: I liked writing how much money there was in the piggy bank.<\/p>\n<p>Olivier: I liked playing in the shop.<\/p>\n<p>Jane: There is a till in the shop and money.<\/p>\n<p>Igor: I was buying a pen in the shop.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: I liked playing with the magnet and catch the money with the magnet because it is metal and then you say what money you catch.<\/p>\n<p>Scott: I liked finding the money in the tuff tray.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: On the smart board you had to put the money in the right box.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the game we have been using to enhance our learning this week:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.topmarks.co.uk\/money\/coins-game<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Individual Talks<\/span><\/p>\n<p>All individual talks have been completed now. Over the next week, your child&#8217;s talk and feedback will be uploaded to their online journal.<\/p>\n<p>Carter: I liked telling everyone about my trumpet.<\/p>\n<p>Shea: I liked telling everyone about my robot.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: I liked Carter\u2019s trumpet.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: I liked Carter\u2019s trumpet.<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: I liked telling people about my toy \u2013 kitten surprise.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Science<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roma: We went to the nursery to play with toys. We were looking for things that could push or pull.<\/p>\n<p>Pati: In the see-saw you had to push your legs.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: On a scooter you had to push.<\/p>\n<p>Luke: The wheel swing \u2013 you can push and pull.<\/p>\n<p>Freya: In the garden I found ice and we brought it back to the classroom. We watched the ice melt in a tub. We put the tubs back outside to see if the water would turn into ice overnight.
