{"id":19819,"date":"2018-10-26T10:55:26","date_gmt":"2018-10-26T10:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=19819"},"modified":"2018-10-26T10:55:26","modified_gmt":"2018-10-26T10:55:26","slug":"p1b-weekly-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2018\/10\/26\/p1b-weekly-news\/","title":{"rendered":"P1B weekly news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have learned 2 new sounds this week.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy- \u201cWe learned the o sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shakti- \u201cThe o sound is black because we go through the tunnel to the vowel house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lily- \u201cWe make a circle with our mouth when we make the o sound\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Connor- \u201cIt lives in the vowel house and in the story we try to put the light on because it is dark but the light is broken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Emilie- \u201cWe learned the e sound this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joshua- \u201ce is also a black sound which lives through the tunnel in the vowel house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lewis- \u201cThe Mummy is cracking the eggs in the kitchen of the vowel house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are the song we used to practise saying our sounds.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9BQhF8Rj9JI<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JtrlWdBNXM4<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In writing this week we watched a clip of a boy with a book that came to life. We then used our imagination to write about what we would like to come out of a book.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Book of butterflies -Michael Leunig\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-X3Py9naAp0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>We had lots of lovely ideas-<\/p>\n<p>Adam \u201cChocolate cake and a rainbow would come out of my book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shakti \u201cI wanted cute bunny rabbits to come out of my book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Szymon- \u201cI wanted a cake to come out of my book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well done to our star writers Liam and Joshua we are very proud of you for trying hard to give your writing a go on your own and remembering to have a capital letter, full stop, finger spaces and use your sounds.<\/p>\n<p>In numeracy we started our addition topic.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua- \u201cWe have been learning the language add, plus and equals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Isla- \u201cWe used dominoes to add the dots on each side and then we had to write the sum on a whiteboard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We played a dice addition game, we had to roll 2 dice and then add the dots together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have been working hard to count on. If we see 2 + 3=<\/p>\n<p>Instead of counting 1, 2 we just say 2 and then count on 3, 4, 5 to get the answer. We have also been practising this in number talks using the rekenreks when counting the beads. This is a quicker strategy.<\/p>\n<p>We liked listening and responding to this song.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"When You Add with a Pirate (addition song for kids)\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WT_wvvEvkw4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>In Spanish we have been learning how to respond to Spanish phrases which Miss Boyes uses during our daily routine.<\/p>\n<p>We have been learning the words \u00a1Escuchad! &#8211; Which means to listen and \u00a1Mirad!- Which means to look.<\/p>\n<p>We now know that \u201c!Haced la fila!\u201d means to line up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Primary 3 for coming to show us how to use our netbooks, we loved the instructions which you wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend from Miss Boyes and Primary 1B<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone! &nbsp; We have learned 2 new sounds this week.
