Here is some of the things we wrote about:<\/p>\n<p>Carter: \u201cI went to lego land. I went to Dubai.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: \u201cI was in the swimming pool. I was in Spain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luke: \u201cI went to the shops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anna: \u201cI went on my bike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carter: \u201cme and Rojin got the golden ticket.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rojin: \u201cMrs Purdie liked our writing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Phonics<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have learned 2 new sounds this week. The sounds we learned were:<\/p>\n<p>Pati: \u201co sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul: \u201ce sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shea: \u201cthe song is about the lights going off and on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Please see the links below for the songs.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: \u201co is a bouncy sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carter: \u201cthey book live in the vowel house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jane: \u201cI liked learning the \u2018o\u2019 sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Layla: \u201cI liked the \u2018o\u2019 sound. It is a black sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michelle: \u201cI liked learning the \u2018e\u2019 sound. Your child will be given the next set of sight words when they are able to spell and read all of the sight words on their current list. Mrs Davenport checks how we get on with our sight words every 2 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>This week we were also playing sight word bowling to help us read our sight words. We have some sight words written on the skittles, the skittles that we knock down, we read which sight word is on them when we pick them up again.<\/p>\n<p>Olivier: \u201cI liked bowling and reading words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amelia: \u201cI was writing sight words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Numeracy<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have started to learn about addition. We know that when you add things together, the amount gets bigger. We have also looked at the mathematical symbols and talked about the language for add and equals.<\/p>\n<p>Roma: \u201cWe coloured in minnie pictures. We had to look at the board for the numbers to colour in properly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shea: \u201cfind a number on the tuff table and do finger paints to show how much the number was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Freya: \u201cwith bowling you had to count how many you knocked over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul: \u201cmake the hopscotch all the way up to 20.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott: \u201cI liked playing with the bowling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Celine: \u201cI liked played with the hopscotch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Igor: \u201cI liked bowling. I knocked and counted 5.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Logan: \u201cI liked playing with adding bowling game on the iPads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We played a new game on the iPads this week, called counting and addition! In this game, you can practise adding skittles \u2013 just like in our bowling we have been doing in class. You could download this on a device at home too. This is a great free app.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Maths<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have been looking at data handling and collecting and interpreting bar graphs this week. We visited different classes to do our survey and find out what other people\u2019s favourite Disney character is.<\/p>\n<p>Anna: \u201cyou had to pick your favourite character in Disney and asked different classes their favourite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In our class, Cinderella was the favourite and Buzz Lightyear was the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> favourite.<\/p>\n<p>Mara: \u201cI picked Pluto as my favourite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>IDL &#8211; Topic<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Luke: \u201cwe made an aeroplane and painted it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lucas: \u201cwe need the aeroplane to get to Disney World.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carter: \u201cyou can dress up and take photos and get people to sign their name on the autograph book.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Writing On Tuesday, we were writing a recount about what we were doing during our October break.
