{"id":19659,"date":"2018-09-28T16:18:02","date_gmt":"2018-09-28T16:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=19659"},"modified":"2018-09-28T16:35:09","modified_gmt":"2018-09-28T16:35:09","slug":"primary-1b-news-update-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2018\/09\/28\/primary-1b-news-update-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 1B news update!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone, here is our news update!<\/p>\n<p>Literacy<\/p>\n<p>Adam \u201cThis week we have learning the k sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emileigh- Rose \u201cThe k sounds is short and bouncy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emilie- \u201cThe k sound is yellow because we make the k sound at the back of our mouths and we have to use the yellow torch to see how we raise the back of our tongues to\u00a0the back of the mouth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Shay \u201cWe also learned the ck sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lucy- \u201cWe have learned that c and k joined together makes 1 sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We understand that the ck sound is at the end of a word.<\/p>\n<p>Connor- Kick<\/p>\n<p>Isla- pick<\/p>\n<p>Shakti &#8211; &#8220;When we write the ck sound we join the letters together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Can you think of anymore?<\/p>\n<p>We have been reading words and making words with these sounds. We took one of our books to Milk and story with the nursery on Friday. We have asked the Primary 7\u2019s if they could maybe help us type up our emails to send to Harry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In numeracy this week we have been learning how to order numbers to 10 and how to find the missing number In a sequence to 10. Miss Boyes loved hearing about all of our talents and what a talented bunch we are!<\/p>\n<p>We loved our Buddy Mass, it was such a lovely morning and lovely to see P1B and their buddies celebrate mass together.<\/p>\n<p>For European Day of Languages Miss Boyes asked Miss McCormack if we could team up with Primary 7 to research a European country. This went amazingly well and each group found out the capital city, flag, population and how to say \u2018Hello\u2019.
