{"id":19591,"date":"2018-09-28T12:30:01","date_gmt":"2018-09-28T12:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=19591"},"modified":"2018-09-28T12:36:20","modified_gmt":"2018-09-28T12:36:20","slug":"p2-weekly-update-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2018\/09\/28\/p2-weekly-update-3\/","title":{"rendered":"P2 Have The Power Of Yet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>P2 have had a great week.\u00a0 We had our first successful trip to the local library, thank you to our adult helpers who came with us.\u00a0 The children were all able to choose a book to bring back to school and they then used their book to inspire them to record a drawing or piece of writing.\u00a0 Well done everyone.\u00a0 In class we have also been learning about the power of the word YET when we are learning.\u00a0 The children are recognising that they can achieve anything through celebrating mistakes and using them as an opportunity to achieve great learning&#8230;we don&#8217;t say I can&#8217;t do it! We say I can&#8217;t do it YET!<\/p>\n<p>We watch this fun song before our learning to help us remember this valuable message,<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sesame Street: Janelle Monae - Power of Yet\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XLeUvZvuvAs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Here is an overview of our learning from this week,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Literacy<\/strong> &#8211; We read the book <em>&#8220;Billy Monsters Daymare&#8221;<\/em> for our boost work this week.\u00a0 We thought it was really funny when we discussed that it is the opposite of our lives; Billy had nightmares about children! The children were then challenged to try to use any of the boost words when talking to me, I was so delighted when Jack told me he had a &#8220;tiny&#8221; lunch!
