{"id":19221,"date":"2018-08-31T11:39:28","date_gmt":"2018-08-31T11:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=19221"},"modified":"2018-08-31T12:23:43","modified_gmt":"2018-08-31T12:23:43","slug":"primary-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2018\/08\/31\/primary-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been such a quick week and we have done so much.\u00a0 Read on to find out about our learning for this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Numeracy<\/strong> &#8211; We have been focusing on numbers to 100.\u00a0 We have practised counting to 100 in ones (we have a little tune that we count along to, ask your child to sing it to you).\u00a0 We have also practised counting in 10s to 100.\u00a0 Our counting beads have really helped us visualise these numbers and the groups of 10s.\u00a0 <em>Challenge question : If I push 40 beads to the top of my counting string, how many would be at the bottom of the string?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Here is a link for a fun exercise programme which helps children count to 100 whilst exercising.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Let&#039;s Get Fit | Count to 100 | Count to 100 Song | Counting to 100 | Jack Hartmann\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0TgLtF3PMOc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Literacy &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>We have started our Word Boost programme and read the book <em>Who&#8217;s At The Door?\u00a0<\/em>The children all brought home their first Word Boost postcard to help you practise these words at home with some suggested activities (these are yours to keep so your child does not need to keep them in their folder).\u00a0 We have also been revising the handwriting of the letters a, b, c, d, e and f.\u00a0 \u00a0For story writing this week we used the Charlie and Lola story <em>I Am Actually Not Very Well\u00a0<\/em>as our theme and then wrote our own story about when we were not very well.\u00a0 Next week we are writing story about getting our photograph taken (again based on a Charlie and Lola story\u00a0<em>Say Cheese).\u00a0 You can talk about this with your child to help them prepare for story writing next week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>PE &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>In PE the children have been having lots of fun learning new games which we have to use our skills of spacial awareness to keep us safe during the game.\u00a0 We have also started running the Ninian Mile this week, all good fun.<\/p>\n<p>Well done everyone in P2 this week, you were all stars!<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Currie<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been such a quick week and we have done so much.\u00a0 Read on to find out about our learning for this week.
