{"id":19151,"date":"2018-08-24T09:47:12","date_gmt":"2018-08-24T09:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=19151"},"modified":"2018-08-24T09:47:12","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T09:47:12","slug":"welcome-from-primary-1b-and-miss-boyes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2018\/08\/24\/welcome-from-primary-1b-and-miss-boyes\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome from Primary 1B and Miss Boyes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome,<\/p>\n<p>The children have all had a super first week in Primary 1 and I am so proud of them all for how they have settled in.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>PE days-<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our PE days this term are Tuesday and Thursday.<br \/>\nChildren will need their PE kit- yellow top and back shorts\/jogging bottoms\/leggings.<br \/>\nThe children can leave their PE kit in their gym bag on their peg.<\/p>\n<p>Their black indoor gym shoes can be left in class on their chair.<\/p>\n<p>Children in P1-3 are entitled to free school meals and these can be ordered using ipay impact online system. If you are not able to access this, your child will be asked in the morning to order their own lunch.<\/p>\n<p>Children should bring a small snack for playtime and choose a school lunch or bring a packed lunch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have been learning our class routines- how to sit on the carpet, how to change our shoes, coats and prepare for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>We have begun to learn how to hold a pencil, we have been practising different strategies-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nipping our pencil with thumb and index finger, flipping our pencil and gripping our pencil.<\/li>\n<li>Crocodile fingers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have been practising different patterns through our letter-join resource.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure the children would love to show you this at home and we will continue to practise this in class.<\/p>\n<p>In class we have been talking about our rights for our class charter and Primary 1 have come up with their own rules (to be ready, respectful and safe) which they are putting into practise.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I will sit with my legs crossed and hands in my basket when on the carpet.<\/li>\n<li>I will not shout out at my teacher and will wait my turn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You could ask your child if they can remember the other responsibilities which they chose to match their rights.<\/p>\n<p>We have been learning to right our numbers.<\/p>\n<p>This week we have been learning how to write the numbers 2, 3 and 4.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the rhymes which we use to remember how to form our numbers.<\/p>\n<p>2- Half a heart says \u201cI love you\u201d. Add a line.
