This has been a very busy week filled with lots of new learning. Over to you kids;<\/p>\n

We have been continuing to develop our mental maths strategies through our number talks. Miss Smyth came to our class to see how well we are doing with this. (Abi)<\/p>\n

We have been working with money this week in maths. We have been working out money problems. To work out a word problem we use 2 coloured pencils. We circle numbers with one colour and mathematic vocabulary with the other. We throw away all the other words so that we don\u2019t get confused. \u2013Louise<\/p>\n

This week for writing we wrote an imaginative story called \u2018The Night Before Christmas\u2019. We watched the Sainsbury\u2019s advert and listened to Christmas songs to find good vocabulary and descriptions to help with our writing. \u2013 Lewis<\/p>\n

We explored a passage called \u2018 The Mysterious Gentleman\u2019 to find alliteration. We looked at other examples of alliteration and came up with sentences of our own.<\/p>\n

Peter Piper picked a pickled pepper. <\/em>Nasim<\/p>\n

Santa\u2019s Shining sparkley sleigh<\/em> – Lewis<\/p>\n

This week in P4\/5 we have started a new Science topic \u2018Forces\u2019. We went on a magnet hunt to look at push and pull forces. Lukasz<\/p>\n

I used a magnet to see if a mental pole was magnetic and it was. Joshua<\/p>\n

Our tables that are made of wood are not magentic. Lewis<\/p>\n

This week was the beginning of Advent. We learned what each candle in the advent wreath represents.<\/p>\n

Week 1 \u2013 Purple (Hope)<\/p>\n

Week 2 \u2013 Purple (Peace)<\/p>\n

Week 3 \u2013 Rose (Joy)<\/p>\n

Week 4 \u2013 Purple (Love)<\/p>\n

Christmas Day \u2013 White.<\/p>\n

We made our very own wreath for our class Alter. (Mirren)<\/p>\n

We hope you all have a great weekend starting off with our Festive Fun afternoon.<\/p>\n
