{"id":13922,"date":"2016-11-25T15:08:14","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T15:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/?p=13922"},"modified":"2016-11-25T15:08:40","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T15:08:40","slug":"p76-news-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/2016\/11\/25\/p76-news-2\/","title":{"rendered":"P7\/6 Rocks!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good afternoon everyone.<\/p>\n<p>It has been another fun packed week in P7\/6.<\/p>\n<p>Our Science topic this week was really <em>rocking<\/em>! \u00a0We learned all about the structure of the Earth and spent sometime drawing and labelling diagrams which show the inner core, outer core, mantle and crust. \u00a0From here we became geologists and learned about different types of rocks, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. \u00a0It was great to get a chance to touch and hold all these rock samples and not just use pictures. We were even then able to identify rocks from their colour and texture! \u00a0The <em>rock<\/em> and roll lifestyle of a P7\/6!<\/p>\n<p>In Maths we have continued working with decimal numbers and improved our ability to mentally add and subtract decimal numbers. \u00a0We also consolidated our knowledge of multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000. \u00a0This formed part of our Maths glass wall learning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11651.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13925\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11651-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_11651\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For our writing we completed our series of lessons on &#8220;Cool To Be Kind&#8221; and we completed diary entries from a refugee&#8217;s point of view. \u00a0We used emotional language to convey feelings and the finished result was some very powerful pieces. \u00a0These have formed a display in our classroom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11661.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13926\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11661-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_11661\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11671.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13927\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11671-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_11671\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11681.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13928\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11681-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_11681\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11691.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13929\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/stniniansps\/files\/2016\/11\/IMG_11691-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"img_11691\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well done P7\/6. \u00a0have a lovely weekend<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Currie<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good afternoon everyone.
