If it said \u201ccolour 2 halves we would colour both parts of the shape.\u201d- Kate<\/p>\n<p>If it said \u201ccolour 3 quarters of the shape we would look at the 4 quarters but only colour 3 parts of the shape.\u201d \u2013 Emma<\/p>\n<p>We also revised our ability to find half of a number.<\/p>\n<p>To do this we played a game where we had to find half of the numbers. For example \u201chalf of 30 is 15\u201d- Seamus.<br \/>\nWe also played a fun game where we had to design a flag by shading each quarter a different colour. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.primarygames.co.uk\/fflags\/fractionflagsres.html\">http:\/\/www.primarygames.co.uk\/fflags\/fractionflagsres.html <\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; We revised our sight words and practised reading and spelling the words. We completed a word search for active spelling where we had to find all of the tricky words.<\/p>\n<p>To begin our writing lesson we watched this video clip and\u00a0which was our stimulus.- Partly Cloudy.<br \/>\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-a6Pe1ovKHg<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a great clip which can be watched at home.<br \/>\nWe had to use adjectives to describe a creature that our cloud made.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy cloud is called Aaron he makes small fluffy dogs.\u201d- Seamus<br \/>\n\u201cThe unicorns are soft and friendly and they live in a big forest.\u201d- Emma<br \/>\nIn art we looked at the work of\u00a0Vincent Van Gogh\u00a0and we really liked his sunflower painting. \u201cWe painted our own sunflowers in class.\u201d- Carly.<br \/>\nWe learnt\u00a0 the difference between the paper being portrait and landscape. We had to make sure our paper was portrait because sunflowers are so tall and they took up the whole page.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe used dot painting for part of our flower and for the sky\u201d. \u2013 Brooke<br \/>\n\u201cWe used shading of the orange and the yellow to paint the petals.\u201d \u2013Daniel<\/p>\n<p>Our structured play now has the theme of Summer.<\/p>\n<p>At structured play we have been \u201cMaking fruit kebabs, planting seeds, playing in the water and sand\u00a0trays and completing Spanish games on the Ipads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sorry for not having photos, there have been technical difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend from Miss Boyes and P2B!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we have been learning how to find a \u00bd and a \u00bc of a shape.
